New York-based DIY artist Emma Witmer, gobbinjr, is following 2016’s LP manalang and EP vom night with even more cavity-inducing sap-like melodies and playful, relatable verses. Evidence of this is in the new single, “afraid of me,” from the indie pop’s upcoming LP ocala wick- out June 8 via Topshelf Records. In “afraid of me,” Witmer sings with comforting and wispy vocals about trying to befriend an acquaintance while still keeping walls up. Before now, fans would have never known that Witmer’s voice pairs especially well with a kazoo-like sound; this surely won’t be the only pleasant surprise on ocala wick
