The Zells Get Emotional For Debut Album 'Failure to Slide'

Failure to Slide is the debut full length album from Pittsburgh based garage rock band, The Zells. The album is laid out in twelve tracks, but no two are alike by any means. Though they keep their roots grounded in the punk/garage rock sound that doesn't stop them from incorporating bits of laid back dream pop into the album.

This  is set into the very last track of the release, "oh, the things you'll do". This song has an atmosphere all it’s own filled with distorted and delayed guitar pieces that layer over each other to create dreamy illusion.

As stated before, this does not dig them far from their garage roots. The roots where we feel like we can scream about our relationships and insecurities inside four concrete walls. Tracks like, "the fair one" trace back to those classic lyrical topics. There's a break in the song where all singing turns into full blown yelling about how he "couldn't give a fuck about the fair one". This seems to bleed deep into our feelings of insecurity and how it feels like we have to prove how much we don't care about a person or situation. Even if we actually do care we're all a little too embarrassed to show it.

The Zells recently dropped a music video for their single, "brunch" that can be found on YouTube. Failure to Slide can be found on bandcamp, SoundCloud and Spotify. They will also be embarking on an eight day east coast tour that kicks off this week. - check out tour dates below
